Mexican film composer, bilingual singer-songwriter, conductor and arranger.

Monica grew up always surrounded by music because of her family, who in spite of not being professional musicians have always been contagious about their passion for music. She began writing songs at a very early age and began her music training in the conservatory ‘Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey’ as a classical pianist. At the same time, she received private voice lessons from various vocal coaches allowing her to learn and experiment with different music styles. Being aware of the evolution of the music industry, she got a diploma in Music Production and Audio Engineering at Audio Experts studios.

Following her passion for storytelling and her interest in visual arts and film, on 2013 Monica began her music studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she decided to major in Film Scoring. That same year she released her first EP as a solo artist 'Condemned to Dream'. Her song 'Sepia' made her the recipient of the BMI Peermusic Latin Scholarship in 2014. She became director and arranger of the Audire Soundtrack Choir and Orchestra. She helped Audire achieve the milestone of their first show at the prestigious Berklee Performance Center.

After graduating summa cum laude, and doing an internship at Music & Motion Productions studio in L.A., Monica returned to Mexico to begin her career as a composer for audiovisual media. She was a professor at CEDIM and ITESM, where she taught audio courses for students majoring in Animation. One of her notable achievements was receiving the award for Best Music at the Femme Film Fest 2019 for the shortfilm ‘Hyphen’ directed by Maria Servellon.

As a solo artist she released her single ‘Sorrow’ and her first album ‘Spirals’. She formed a band to perform her music live. In 2024 she was selected to perform at the Temporada de Música CONARTE’s concert season. In 2025 she received the grant PECDA Nuevo Leon for experienced creators in music composition. Thanks to this award, this year she will be working on her new project ‘Phantasos’.
