Biography

Monica grew up always surrounded by music because of her family, who in spite of not being professional musicians have always been contagious about their passion for music. She started exploring her artistic voice through songwriting at a very early age. She later received music training as a classical pianist and singer, but deep inside she knew her true calling was storytelling through music composition and songwriting.

Following that instinct, Monica earned a B.M. in Film Scoring at Berklee College of Music. After graduating and doing an internship at Music & Motion Productions studio in L.A., Monica returned to Mexico to begin her career as a composer for audiovisual media. She was a professor at CEDIM and ITESM, where she taught audio courses for students majoring in Animation.

Monica is also developing her project as an independent solo artist, where she is able to explore freely her artistic voice through songwriting. She released her album ‘Spirals’, a gothic chamber rock conceptual album about her journey navigating the struggles of her mental health.
